YEE HAW!!

There's even a guitar shaped building...... Only in Tennessee!
The Great Smoky Mountains.....the very best place to pick blueberries, blackberries and raspberries........an annual 'Pershingfive' summer tradition.

We always look forward to some time off the road for a breath taking drive up into the Smoky Mountains to pick blueberries, blackberries and raspberries
.......until our fingers are PURPLE!

My 'Berry' good girls searching for the PERFECTLY SWEET AND RIPE blackberries

"Mommy, I love this color of purple."
Cookie with berry stained hands

Mmmmm......The sweetest berries we've ever tasted.

The time we spent on the blueberry farm is like a novel I once read: The cool stream greeted us on a long hot summer day. As we played on the hills where the trees and vines are so full of life and so green. Where we would pretend we were in the jungles of the rainforest. Later in the afternoon we spent our days picking blueberries until our fingers were stained and our bellies were full. There was nothing like those days as a youngster in Tennessee.

"Mommy, I'll be in the creek"

A fresh water creek running through the berry farm provides us with loads of fun as the kiddos hand catch fresh water crustaceans and small fish!!!

Looking over Bam's collection of crustaceans and fish
"Can we take them home, Mommy!!"  My answer....they belong to the hills of the Smoky Mountains honey.

Ahhh.....sweet memories.

My heart skips a beat for days like this.........
