On Halloween night the great pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch......

It was a perfectly beautiful day for a Halloween costume parade.
All the children marched in and out of the classrooms throughout the school.
They made their way to the playground and then on to the grassy field.
Sweetheart and Cookie were so proud of their costumes.
Plus they were super happy because its
Halloween!
Take a peek at the annual costume parade at Cookie and Sweetheart's school.

It's a boo-tiful day for tricks, treats and fun........

Have a spooktacular day............

My walking sugar skull......

We had fun at the Halloween carnival. Sweetheart and Fifi went through the haunted house a dozen times or so. Bam reunited with a few of his former elementary school friends. While Cookie, my beautiful sugar skull, and I played games and enjoyed the enchanted forest together.
The enchanted forest is opposite from a haunted house and always a favorite for us.

A peek inside the enchanted forest where the theme was
Alice in Wonderland, Narnia and Where the Wild Things Are.

Bam shared his vegan nachos and spring water with us.

After a night of games, prizes and winning cakes, we walked home happy.
We're glad to have shared in 71 years of school tradition.
We look forward to next year..........

disguise the limit tonight..........

This evening we attended the Halloween carnival at Risen Savior.
The girls were excited to finally get into their costumes they worked so hard on.
Princess Fifi is the fictional character Esmeralda from Victor Hugos's 1831 novel 'Notre Dame de Paris' aka The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Cookie is a classic Dia de Los Muertos calavera aka adorned sugar skull

Sweetheart is the DC Comics supervillaniness Poison Ivy aka the primary female enemy of Batman.

Bam and I attended in costume as well.
After a night of carnival games, haunted house, prizes, cakes and pizza we were exhausted.
Halloween is so much fun!
Hope your Halloween weekend is full of joy and laughter........

just hangin' around 'til Halloween......

We've decorated the front porch with skeletons and orange pumpkin lights.
The large hanging translucent skeleton was a August yard sale find and the eerie orange pumpkin lights are an early summer Texas thrift store find as well. There's also a string of mini skeletons that are hanging around. The girls strung them together from last years Halloween carnival trinkets treats given to them.
The porch looks great.....
I love the way this photo came out: very old, grainy, and spooky.
Oooowww.....

seasonal stuff........... oh my

What did we see when we went to the store today?
Halloween decorations along side Thanksgiving autumn decor.
Yes, Halloween is just around the corner.
This stuff excites the kids and the kid in me.
We love Halloween: dressing up, parties, celebrations, happiness.
Afterall, this does officially kick off the holiday season for us.
--Halloween-(Thanksgiving)Autumnal Equinox-Christmas--
Its all wrapped up in a nice little bundle at the end of the year.
And this is what we saw..........

Creepy 3-D skeleton wall hangings

This ghoul isn't so creepy with a price tag stuck on his forehead

The skull isn't as scary as the price........

A sniveling nail biting clown

stranger danger...........

This is what President Obama would look like with a goatee

Bodiless head scared us right out of the store...................eeekkk
Next week the Christmas stuff hits the stores.............now that's scary !!!
