laugh therapy.....

I have a good friend who decide she wanted to rearrange her house today.
She says I'm a good friend for helping her redesign her living space... (I think she's a good friend for trusting my decisions)

Any ways.... we've decided she needs new furniture.
She says she needs my eye for design.
I laugh when she says that...

Good friends are good to have.
Good friends are hard to find.
Good friends are GOLD

a sprinkle a day.....

Cookie says, "Sprinkles are like glitter.... for food."

This pile of colorful sprinkles are left over (spillage) from the cupcake decorating that went DOWN last night.
Sweetheart, Fifi, and Cookie invited some friends over for a HUGE slept over party (I don't think they slept much though..... plenty of giggle-YES)
It was more like a make-over, dress up, nail salon, cupcake kind of night.

The house smelled yummy from baking cupcakes.
If only they made a perfume from that scent.

Special thanks to Fifi, Sweetheart, Cookie and their friends who did a great job tidying up afterwards.

18 gallons of......... SUMMER FUN

Oh geez...there's nothing like busy fun filled summer days!!
The Persingerfive live for summer!!

There is nothing like FUN in the SUN with our schedule booked full of adventures, growing, playing, reading and enjoying family time.

The thing that bugs me most lately is the ever increasing gas prices.
Eeeekkkk!!!!!
That's not so fun...

We are beyond excited lately as we prepare for our summer holiday...

tennis anyone??

My girls were invited to (their friend) Miss Deja's house.......she's one of Princesss Fifi's best friends.

Miss Deja's grandmother took all the girls to enjoy a game of.... TENNIS.
Sweetheart told me they had a very nice time
Cookie said they didn't spend too much time on the court because ... it was decidedly too BLAZING HOT.

They put in a few good attempt at a game but HOME was much more appealing to them.

*****I wasn't able to find the right cord to upload the pics*****

Instead Fifi found these snaps of an amazing tennis court online.
The location is most likely.... Dubai.

The skyscraper resembles a sailboat

Star ship enterprise

I'm positive a game of tennis would not be on my mind....

These guys are probably wondering who will retrieve the tennis ball...

HOT sun and cool water fun

Sweetheart's very best friend, little Miss Katia, invited Sweetheart, Cookie and Princess Fifi over for swimming time.
Ohhhhh......... it was perfect timing....... especially with the HOT days we've been having lately.
The girls squealed with delight for the opportunity to have a girls day with little Miss Katia in her swimming pool.
Immediately the girls began trying on their swimming suits.
I suppose it's been a while since we've been swimming....the girls outgrew theirs....so it was time to purchase new swimming suits and coverups.

We had fun searching for the perfect color, the perfect cut and the perfect fit. We found it in the Harajuku collection at Target and the Selena Gomez collection at Kmart with super cute coverups from Costco.

Before I could get a picture of the girls in their swimsuits.........it was time to go to little Miss Katia's house. But believe me....they look so sweet, cute and summer ready in their new swim suits!

a fishy field trip

Fun time for Fifi, as today her advanced studies science class headed to the Bosque School for a field trip.
They were working with the Bosque school, New Mexico wildlife and Rio Grande Open Spaces to finalize their wild fish monitoring program they began earlier this year.
During the school year, Fifi's advanced studies science class, recorded the daily fish activity and behavior of several different native Rio Grande species.
The BEMP (Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program) teachers at Bosque School toured the students along the bosque near the Rio Grande River, where they re-released the native fish back into their natural habitat.
Fifi was impressed with the Bosque school and enjoyed getting out of the classroom for the day too.
In fact, the advanced studies science class enjoyed more than a few hours away from school today....

Excellent Skills Cookie!!!
Great job

Sweetheart assisted the science teacher
with a chemistry demonstration

This student had a vinegar reaction science experiment with story

Then the Science teacher magically transformed himself in a magician.
The children were amused at his jokes and attempts at magic.
"Abracadabra"

Pie in the face ...... winner or loser?
Depends how you look at it.
There was so much to do........We had FUN tonight.
I also had the opportunity to meet some of Fifi's friends.
Good times for all.... and to all a MAGICAL night.

it's a glitter, stickers and lolli kind of day.....

Cookie and Sweetheart are finishing with last minute touches to their valentine cards for delivery tomorrow to their friends, teachers and classmates.

Vintage cards are sooo sweet.
Except these aren't the cards the girls gave out.....

They've also decorated their valentine "mail" boxes with red and pink paper and have layered upon layers of stickers and glitter to add that final POW........

Vintage 1950's

My girls are so sweet and so generous--
They've made sure everyone in their class will get a valentine card and a lollipop from them.
They even have extras for just in case......such big hearts **sigh**
I'm so in love with my little ones.

cake, ice cream and bandaids

Having many children means having many friends.
Having many friends means attending many birthday parties........

This afternoon we're at a birthday party for little Miss Jessie at Roller Skate City.

♥I love this sepia image of Princess Fifi♥
As if she stepped into a time machine to the 1950's

It was exciting to get out on the rink to skate to some of our favorite tunes.
(click here to see the last time our skates were in ACTION)
We brought our own inline skates but we were given the chance to try skating on four wheels as well.
 (the orange wheeled rental skates)
"Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy" says Cookie and Sweetheart.

Can you spot Cookie and Sweetheart??
**hint: Cookie is center / Sweetheart is right

Bam loves to skate at me full speed
and last second swerving off to the side
Oh Bam!!

Princess Fifi has such graceful falls............they shall be known as "Fi-Falling"

We had a great time with tons of laughs on wheels.
                                                      Happy Birthday Jessie!!

what a blessing.......

This evening we attended our first New Mexican Posada.
A Posada is a special Christmas mass held in a private residence honoring the journey of Mary and Joseph.

Tonight's Mass was officiated by Monsignor Olona

Christmas music provided ambiance for the night

The Vigil family provided their beautiful and spacious home for the Posada.

Yummy cookies and biscochittos anyone???

After mass, the Vigils invited everyone to stay for a meal and dessert.
But among the veggie platter, the finger food and the chips and dip they had some New Mexican favorites like.......

Tortillas

Green chile stew

Red chile carne adovada

Super HOT green chile

Homemade tamales

With full bellies followed goodwill and cheer among the guests as they gathered about the house.

The grown ups gathered around the table
to talk about their children and grandchildren

Others gathered in the living room for after dessert banter

Friends new and old were made

La tournament of ping pong was held in the garage

 after dinner poker?!

Smiling faces proves to be contagious

Tonight we met some charming and lovely people while sharing prayer, song, great food and sweet biscochittos.

We give the Vigil family many accolades for the beautiful Posada.
Thank you for sharing the special evening with us.

"break a leg"

This evening we're at the presentation of Princess Fifi's drama club performance.
Many families and friends gathered in support of our young thespians as they present us with improv comedy skits and mini informercials.
They all did a great job and left us laughing at some light hearted moments.
Fifi has a passion for acting in live theater.
She has great stage presence as well.
It was a fantastic night out for all.
Princess Fifi second in line on Left with white flower necklace she designed and made for this performance

Thank you, Drama Coach Camacho

The jump rope team took a little excursion away from their daily studies for a field trip to perform for students at a different school.

The team performed a la escuela primaria de East San José.

The students of East San Jose were astonished and amazed at the skills, talent and fitness of the jump rope team.
