spring is in the air.......

--Parent meeting for spring sports participation this evening--

I like these informational meetings.
They gave us all the information and rules.
They encouraging my child to be athletically and academically responsible.
They encourage team sportsmanship and school spirit.
The coaches and principle praise, energize, and strengthen the decisions of the participant.
They'll support the athlete along the way with this new quest.

We look forward to another season of sports participation..........

the spirit of winning

Today was the final football game for the team.....

What a great game they played tonight; giving them a victorious end to the season.
5/2 average
The coaches have made the boys strong, determined, and motivated athletes.
What a spectacular win!!

Can you believe the season is over already??
Bam had a great time playing football.
We enjoyed watching and supporting him and his team.
The girls and I enjoyed learning the cheers, the chants and the rules and the game of football.
We admire Bam for his strength, understanding and commitment to becoming a strong athlete and team player.

"The Big Event"

"The Big Event" is a mandatory, Safe Teen New Mexico awareness seminar, for students involved in any athletic and/ or activities at Bam's high school.
Bam was in attendence..............

SafeTeen New Mexico is a youth driven non-profit organization. We partner with both public and private entities to fund and create programs that educate teens and parents about critical issues facing youth. Programs have included: distracted driving, underage drinking and drug abuse, date violence, body image and mental health.

SafeTeens vision is to create awareness in order to facilitate healthy decision making. Students and schools work with SafeTeen to customize school-based programs as well as broad based social marketing campaigns. The SafeTeen organization exists to prevent injury, death and disability resulting from poor teen choices.

Safeteen New Mexico was established in 2001 by a group of business leaders; Jim Hinton and Vince Baca from Presbyterian Healthcare, Art Gardenswartz from Sportz Outdoor, and Thom Turbett from Independent Insurance Agents of New Mexico. The program was initially supported by Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation to address the high rate of injuries among New Mexico’s teens resulting from motor vehicle crashes. SAFETEEN began by working to educate teenagers about the real consequences of reckless driving and to change their behavior behind the wheel.
In 2005, SAFETEEN, Inc. incorporated a 501(c)(3) and expanded it’s vision to address a wide variety of issues impacting teen safety.

This was a positive, effective program they had tonight.
I only wish all students at all high schools were required to attend this seminar.
--The program Bam attended tonight was featured on the evening news--
Even the Mayor of Albuquerque was in attendance, not as a city leader, but as a dad.
This is one of the six best community service programs in the United States.
