singing while waiting for the van to go through....

Down at the carwash....

At the car wash. yeah....

Hey get your car washed today

This song (below) came to mind as the van was going through the car wash....
I sang it too.... okay......NOT out loud only in my head.
I'm sure if I did sing out loud I would've gotten a lot of side eye looks
Great song, huh.....

thunder bummer

It's a track meet day for Princess Fifi...... she's running the 800 meter dash.

We're at the SE Albuquerque public school stadium

Cookie and Sweetheart packed a blanket and a bag of sippy drinks, fruit, granola and nuts.
They were very prepared for the meet as they waited for Fifis event to come up.

But within 15 minutes after the meet began; a thunderstorm moved into the area.
Thunderstorms are very common in New Mexico. Often times without rain--just thunder and lightening.
The meet was put on safety alert as the athletes were moved into the gym.
The spectators were asked to evacuate the stadium and to wait in their vehicles.

After a little over 30 minutes the thunderstorm eventually moved on but then the fierce winds moved in.
The meet was cancelled

It's good to go home.... warm.... dinner.... safe (yeah)

Plant a new truffula. Treat it well....

For our 300th blog, Cookie and Sweetheart share
some of their favorite Dr. Seuss quotes from
Oh, the Places You'll Go, The Lorax and Cat in the Hat.

I speak for the trees.
I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.

--The Lorax--

You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So...get on your way!

--Oh, the Places You'll Go!--

Look at me!
Look at me!
Look at me NOW!
It is fun to have fun
But you have to know how

--The Cat in the Hat--

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!

--Oh, the Places You'll Go!--

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

--Oh the Places You'll Go!--

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what yo know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.

--Oh, the Places You'll Go!--

It's a GREAT day so click on one of the past blog post below to continue the adventures.

egg-travagant hairstyling

Look who has beautiful hair.... Sweetheart

My girls were flipping through a fashion magazine when they saw this hair style.
They then decided to recreated it..... EXACTLY.

Wow!

I am amazed, they are truly talented.

With Easter tomorrow, I think this beautiful up-do is perfect for the occasion.
What do you think??

I'm having a hard time attempting to sleep again.
So I think maybe I could do a few things since I'm up like.....

you're my ROCK....

A few days ago was Nana's birthday.
We were not able to visit her nor was she able to visit us.
But we will see her in a few more days.
Until then the girls are working on a TOP SECRET project for her garden.

artist's at work

Sweetheart's imagination is soaring

lay out plans and shading options....

Princess Fifi is working on the smaller details of the bigger plan....

Cookie reminds you--

snow where to hide....

Woke up to SNOW this morning....
Yes, this is how much snow we got.........no joke!
Doesn't look like much snow in our part of the city....

But....

The NE Heights seemed to have got a wee more snow than us.
(lucky them)
Awww..... Spring flowers covered in snow

There was enough snow in some parts of the city to cause a power outage.
Like at Fifi's school.....
About 10:30 AM her school called me to let me know school had been cancelled due to
power outage!

Some parents were none too happy to have their day interrupted to pick up their kid.

I, myself, was more than HAPPY to have Fifi back.
(Power outage or not)
I never really noticed before but the school doesn't have very many windows.
The school was VERY dark and BLACK
almost eerie~~~

Despite the ciao...
The students were very happily excited to have this unexpected day off.

Downtown very early in the morn....

Then by 2 PM the snow was a memory.
The Sun was shining as if snow had never fallen.

A trail of melted snow lines the sidewalks
I wish I would've made a snowman..... or even a snowball.

4G 4S.....what!

Phone Home....

New phones?
I hope so!
*Fingers crossed*

Hmmm.......it's a phone and it's a tablet

Sweetheart quickly figured out the phone features on her own.....

Choices -- Choices
Too many choices to choose from; the newest techy, XG, android, smarty iphones and androids!
....We still have a few more months to go on the contract before we are candidates for upgrades.
Until then, we have to wait patiently and enjoy our current phone a little longer.
*sigh*

faux

April Fool's Day is usually filled with pranks, jokes and hoaxes.
Oh please......
Who has time for that silliness!!

Time is precious around here.
In order to keep our time running efficiently, we must be serious at all times.
After all, we have a strict schedule to keep.
This is how our day begins....

First I release our dog, Swiffer, from his kennel for his early morning run.
He's a great dog!
While the children play with him he simultaneously cleans the floor and dusts the furniture.

I usually pick up and put them away toys from the previous evening of fun.
But first I have to look for our other dog, Stuffy.
Oh that dog is always hiding......

Then I get my children and the cat ready for school.

So glad the girls found their glasses before they leave.....

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY

lights going out around the world.....(in our home too)

Today
is
Earth Hour
when hundreds of millions of people, businesses, and governments around the world unite each year to support the largest environmental event in history. More than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switch off their lights for Earth Hour in 2011. This is sending a powerful message for action on climate changes. It also ushered in a new era with members going beyond the hour to commit to lasting action for the planet. Without a doubt, it's shown how great things can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.

We've participated in Earth hour for many years now.
Persingerfive go beyond just an hour.
We'll turn off all electric or electronics--no cellphone, no tv, no computer, no lights, no washer/dryer, no dishwasher.
We'll have flashlights in hand (thank you Grandma-Great!!) And honor and respect in our hearts for Mother Earth.
Climate challenges facing our planet are so significant that changes need to be global.
It all starts with one action to commit.

CHANGE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN
PROTECT OUR PLANET.......go beyond the hour
#Earth hour
(this blog written 5:04 AM--after publishing--I'm going offline and off the grid for the day)

SBA elevates my temperature......

All this week the children have been participating in the New Mexico Standard Based Assessment Exams.
It's really hard on the students.
They're filling in bubbled answer dots all day long.
Recess, break time and lunch time are limited.
I'd really prefer they not participate but......
(will just leave it at that)

Sweetheart comes home super exhausted and today she is running a fever.
Good thing the weekend is here.
Is homeschooling the answer???

bat mobile

I took my van in for an estimate on brake repair.

That's when I saw this black beauty in the garage.
Wow!

It's not a Mustang---I think it's a Shelby Bullitt
Very nice....I like beautiful cars.

As for the brake repair estimate; it was too expensive and time consuming to have it done right now.
It'll have to wait a little longer--
I dread having my vehicle away from me for too long.
Too much to do.....

where did i put it.....

NO SCHOOL for Bam ---today, tomorrow and Friday

School is currently OUT for student led conferences otherwise known as parent / teacher conferences.
We attended our meeting earlier this morning with his advisory teacher.
Bam is doing well and has nice supportive teachers who encourage him.

Next we're off to the public library to replace our library cards.
I can't seem to find them.....
Do you ever put something in a great spot so that you won't forget them.
But then forget where you put it.
I feel so absent minded---I think I need a vacation!!

Reading opens your mind
 Knowledge is power

running incognito

Fifi has another track meet today at the public school sports stadium.
During the track meet, the participants compete against other middle school runners from around our city.
The parents and siblings quickly fill up the shaded stadium seating away from the bright sun.
Fortunately today is not at all COLD like the last track meet.

In fact the weather is rather nice.
So relieved to be back to the beautiful New Mexico temperatures we love.

the runners and team captains getting organized

One of the male relay runners from our school placed very well

Many strong runners this year....

Fifi likes keeping fit, tone and her cardio strong through competitive running.
She inspires me....... I look up to her spirit.
♥♥♥♥♥

Fifi did very well--so proud of her!!

Meanwhile, Sweetheart attended the track meet incognito.

Do you think the paparazzi will be at the track meet today??

She's a teen idol you know...... with a Disney show and all.
Okay--maybe not.
BUT she still enjoys dress up.....

click here for blog about my very own teen idol (incognito)

Sweetheart and Fifi discuss the events

Bam's new kicks....

We're headed to the shoe stores to find the perfect pair of kicks for BAM.
I can't believe how quickly he wears through his shoes.
After running in and out of shoe stores, I think he's found what he likes.
Of course it couldn't have come any sooner as we must schedule a hair cut as well.
BAM is satisfied with his new kicks and happy with a great hair cut!
Now its time for lunch in the park.
I LOVE MY SON.....
(he makes our day and keeps his sisters and I laughing all the time)

(he wasn't up to having his picture taken today)
