running errands 135 miles away.....

Quick day trip to Gallup was in order for today......

The scenery is very relaxing

 Nana and Cheii were in need of some help with a few errands and appointments.
We were more than happy to help....

After running a few errands
......we stopped for lunch at Bááh Háállí

It was nice to see a few people we knew..... and to take a moment to play catch up.

When you're in this area of the state you must keep an eye for the livestock.......BEEP BEEP

 After a very full day, we had come back home. We have obligations with football practice early in the a.m.

In honor of our hard work we rewarded ourselves with a refreshing SLURPEE
......oh that and it's FREE slurpee day at 7/11 on account it's 7/11 today.
Who knew putting gas in the car would come with a special treat!!

Don't wake me if it's Monday

I think I'd like mornings, if they started later.

It's time to wake up and start our week.
Along with camp and our other activities; we'll have an extra special time because
Auntie is bring Nana and Cheii for a visit.

Our Monday just got a positively wonderful boost!

Friday Family Fun Night

Cookie and Sweetheart hardly think it could be a proper family fun night tonight when Nana isn't here with us. She left yesterday and they miss her already....So I suggested they ring her.
They had a conversation with Nana------over dinner------on the phone....and I think that made everything BETTER.
After they got off the phone....they were smiling, laughing and eating.....they said Nana was missing them too--so it was perfect timing to call!

Now we can officially call tonight Family Fun Night!

enchantment

We are in the land of enchantment of Vanderwagen and Gallup, NM today.
Getting back to our native roots are the very quintessence of our heart and soul.
Amongst the past few weeks of living yachts, country club, movie premieres and big city life we now seek the appreciation of organic nature.
We're visiting Nana and Cheii for the next few days.
(Cheii is the Navajo word for Grandfather)

Tonight, we're at the summer nightly native dances which take place all summer long at the new Gallup Courthouse Square.
Each night they feature different pueblos or tribes showcasing traditional native dances.

The chanting and the rattles are at their perfection tonight
